The AEC – Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen is the European network of conservatoires, music academies, and higher music education institutions. Founded in 1953, it is today one of the leading international organizations in the field of Higher Music Education (HME). Its legal headquarters is in Brussels, and it represents over 300 higher music education institutions in more than 50 countries, primarily in Europe, but also across other parts of the world.
The AEC carries out the following key activities:

Annual international conferences

Thematic seminars and workshops on pedagogy, academic management, innovation, and artistic research

European projects in cooperation with Erasmus+ and other EU programmes

Development of quality standards and guidelines for music course accreditation
It collaborates with the European Commission, the Council of Europe, and other international networks in the artistic and educational sectors.
The AEC is an official Erasmus+ partner for the music sector and has played an active role in the creation and promotion of the Erasmus Orchestra.
It supports conservatoires in processes of internationalisation, quality assurance, and the reform of music curricula in line with European standards.
L'AEC – Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen – è la rete europea dei conservatori, accademie e istituti superiori di musica. Fondata nel 1953, è oggi uno dei principali organismi internazionali nel campo dell’istruzione superiore musicale (Higher Music Education - HME), con sede legale a Bruxelles: rappresenta oltre 300 istituzioni di istruzione musicale superiore in più di 50 paesi, soprattutto in Europa, ma anche in altre parti del mondo.

È partner ufficiale di Erasmus+ per l'ambito musicale e ha partecipato attivamente alla creazione e promozione dell'Erasmus Orchestra.
Supporta i conservatori nei processi di internazionalizzazione, nella valutazione della qualità, e nella riforma dei curricula musicali secondo gli standard europei.
