The AEC Pop & Jazz Platform 2026 conference was held from 12 to 15 February 2026 in Helsinki, Finland. The event, promoted by the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC), aimed to explore the role of pop and jazz music in higher education and contemporary society. The theme of this edition, “Power of Music: self-expression, community engagement and wellbeing in music,” focused on personal expression, community engagement and wellbeing through music.
The event brought together teachers, students and music professionals from across Europe, who took part in workshops, “Open Floor” presentations, and interactive sessions dedicated to pedagogy, improvisation, new educational perspectives and music technologies.
Among the Italian participants was Prof. Nicola Cordisco, jazz guitar Professor, who represented the Conservatorio Lorenzo Perosi of Campobasso. His participation actively contributed to the international dialogue on teaching models and the future perspectives of jazz and pop education, also fostering the creation of potential new contacts with foreign institutions and further broadening the Conservatory’s horizons of collaboration.
Dal 12 al 15 febbraio 2026, ad Helsinki (Finlandia) si è tenuta la conferenza AEC Pop & Jazz Platform 2026, un importante incontro promosso dall’Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC) con l’obiettivo di esplorare il ruolo della musica pop e jazz nell’istruzione superiore e nella società contemporanea. Il tema di questa edizione è stato “Power of Music: self-expression, community engagement and wellbeing in music”, concentrandosi su espressione personale, coinvolgimento comunitario e benessere attraverso la musica.
L’evento ha visto la partecipazione di docenti, studenti e professionisti della musica provenienti da tutta Europa, coinvolti in workshop, presentazioni “Open Floor” e sessioni interattive dedicate a pedagogia, improvvisazione, nuove prospettive educative e tecnologie musicali.
Tra i partecipanti italiani era presente il Prof. Nicola Cordisco, docente di chitarra jazz, che ha rappresentato il Conservatorio Lorenzo Perosi di Campobasso. La sua partecipazione ha contribuito attivamente al dialogo internazionale sui modelli didattici e sulle prospettive future della formazione jazz e pop, favorendo anche la creazione di possibili nuovi contatti con istituzioni estere e ampliando ulteriormente gli orizzonti di collaborazione del Conservatorio.
